The brief: To create a modern, versatile uniform that appealed to a younger workforce and could be worn comfortably all year round in Scotland’s unpredictable weather.

The approach: Using the Murray Science of Uniform® process, we collaborated closely with Lothian to modernise their uniform while maintaining the brand’s smart, professional image. Feedback from drivers shaped the design—more stretch for comfort, breathable fabrics, and practical layering options to suit variable conditions. Key garments included a convertible softshell jacket with zip-off sleeves, redesigned shirts for better fit and comfort, and improved waterproof outerwear for winter performance.

The results: The new collection combines comfort, versatility, and brand identity, helping attract younger staff while maintaining Lothian’s professional standard. Drivers report greater comfort, pride, and confidence in their appearance, reinforcing team cohesion and customer trust.
